Adapted Lenses on the GFX 50r
I’ve been having some great fun adapting lenses on the Fuji GFX 50r. My new favorite is the Tokina 90 2.5, nicknamed “The Bokina” for it’s beautiful out of focus backgrounds. I blame David Burnett for this new obsession I have with older vintage lenses! They have such great character.
I was a bit nervous with the purchase as I was not sure if it would fully cover the larger sensor of the Fuji since it was made for 35mm. I bought it from an Ebay seller in Japan, and was amazed when it arrived a week later in pristine mint condition. Images below from the David Burnett Experience by Iris Creative.
I’ve used it for Landscape, Macros, and Portraits and boy oh boy is it sharp! Great contrast, with really nice color that makes you feel like it was shot on film. It’s also a joy to focus manually, and it just slows you down and makes you think a little bit more before you press the shutter.
I’ve also been working with an Olympus 135 2.8 Zukio lens that is super fun as well. It has really nice smooth gradations from black to white and it gives the images in BW an almost silver gelatin look. See below for an image with the lens adapted to my Sony A9.
I’m looking for pick up a vintage lens in the 35mm range, so anyone has any recommendations, please let me know!
